All Bulbs

Here at GSF Car Parts, we stock all bulbs to suit every different make and model of vehicle. We source premium bulbs from leading automotive manufacturers, such as Ring, Osram, and Neolux, so you can be assured that any replacement bulb you buy will be durable and reliable.

You'll discover bulbs for a range of applications on your vehicle. You can quickly search for the correct bulbs for your car by filtering your reg number or by selecting your make and model

Not only will you find the most common bulbs here, but bulbs that go beyond high-quality headlight bulbs and extra-bright fog light bulbs, including door, instrument, glove box, engine bay, number plate, and many more!

Types of Bulbs Used in Modern Cars

We keep a large range of bulbs for all makes and models at GSF Car Parts. From common halogen bulbs to super-bright LED car bulbs.

There are 3 common types of bulbs used in cars. These are:

Halogen Bulbs

Halogen bulbs are the most common bulbs that you'll find in most modern cars today. They're more cost-effective to manufacture offering a more affordable replacement than other bulb types such as LED or Xenon.

At GSF Car Parts we stock a huge range of halogen bulbs for all makes and models.

LED Bulbs

LED Bulbs are highly energy-efficient using less energy from your vehicle's battery. Plus they’re extremely bright, paving the way along the road.

They will outlast halogen bulbs and are around 150-300% more bright. Lasting 10 years they also are more expensive than halogen bulbs.

Unfortunately, although it is legal to have LED bulbs internally in your car, there is no legislation to approve the use of replacement LED lights externally. And since 2021, MOT testing centres will now fail LED upgrade bulbs unless they were fitted by the manufacturer.

Xenon Bulbs

Xenon HID bulbs have a xenon gas which is 300-450% brighter than standard halogen bulbs and they can come in different colours. They should be replaced around every 3 years and in pairs.

Like LED bulbs there is currently no legislation for Xenon bulbs to use legally as replacement bulbs in your car. Unless fitted originally by the manufacturer.

Headlights and Brake Light Bulbs Changing and Cleaning

Changing your headlights and brake bulbs can seem like a daunting task, but with our handy guide, we can show you how to change them easily. And once you've changed them, how to clean your car headlights.

Frequently Asked Questions

The easiest way is to use a vehicle registration lookup tool or check your owner’s manual. This ensures you choose the correct fitting, wattage, and technology.

Upgraded halogen bulbs offer brighter, whiter light and improved visibility, which is especially useful in poor weather. They also tend to last longer than a traditional bulb.

With shorter daylight hours and increased rain, fog, and snow, you rely on your headlights far more in winter. Keeping lenses clean and bulbs bright improves safety, both for yourself and other road users.

You can use a headlight restoration kit to remove oxidation and yellowing from the lens. These typically involve a fine abrasive polish followed by a UV-protective sealant.

Common causes include touching the glass during installation, electrical issues such as voltage spikes, or using poor-quality bulbs.

Yes. Bulbs tend to dim over time, so replacing both together ensures even brightness and avoids one failing shortly after the other.
