If you’re looking for an inexpensive car from Vauxhall, the Agila may be your best option. This city car was created with Suzuki, and shares almost every feature of the Suzuki Splash. If you’re looking for an inexpensive car from Vauxhall, the Agila may be your best option. This city car was created with Suzuki, and shares almost every feature of the Suzuki Splash. It’s an excellent car to drive around town and comes with three specifications: entry-level, mid-range S, and top model SE.

While it may be funky and pretty, however, you shouldn’t hand over your money just yet. There are several pros and cons that need to be compared before you make any type of purchase decision.

Pros:

  • Running Costs- Because the Agila is a small car, keeping it operational isn’t very expensive. The most economical Agila model, the 12v ecoFLEX, offers 69mpg and 109g/km CO2. The automatic gearbox, when added, reduces the mpg to 49.6 and increases the CO2 emission to 131g/km. Unfortunately, the free road tax is only provided to cars with 100g/km of CO2 or less, and the Agila just misses the mark.

  • Reliability- When it comes to Vauxhall parts, you won’t be disappointed. The Agila is dependable, inexpensive to run, and durable. Vauxhall offers a lifetime warranty up to 100,000 miles on the Agila as well for repairs and replacement car parts, giving owners peace of mind.

  • Drive- Although the Agila isn’t made for driving on the motorway, it’s the perfect city car. It’s light controls make it easy to manoeuvre and zip through busy traffic, and its compact dimensions mean you won’t have much difficulty finding a place to park.

Cons:

  • Comfort- While the higher roof may make it seem like the interior of the Agila is spacious, it’s actually an illusion. This means that two adults in the rear seat is a tight fit, and it’s optimal for long distance trips.

  • Boot Space- Most cars in this class weren’t designed to haul a family’s worth of luggage, and the Agila is no different. With the rear seats up, it only offers 225 litres of space. On the plus side, this is 50 more litres than the Splash, and when the split-fold rear seats are folded down, the amount of boot space does increase to 1,050 litres.

  • Value- The entry level model Agila doesn’t come with much, but the S and SE models offer more, with a CD player, 12v electrical socket, steering wheel mounted stereo controls, and higher front passenger seats. If you want stability control and air conditioning, however, you’ll only be able to get it with the S and SE models, and it will come at an extra cost.

If you’re looking for a car that is durable enough that you won’t have to spend too much on car parts over the years and is excellent for city driving, the Agila may be for you. However, if you’d like to get out of town, go on long trips with your friends or family, or experience the luxury of air conditioning and stability control without additional costs, you may want to consider an alternative vehicle that will offer more leg room, storage space, and accessories.
