You know the importance of curb appeal. It's a vital component when it comes to selling your home for the best price. You cut your grass, paint your front door, and plant a few flowers to attract buyers to your home when you're attempting to sell it. This phrase doesn't just refer to you house. In fact, it can work for other areas of your life as well, including selling your Land Rover.

Curb appeal is a concept that simply refers to how appealing something is from a distance. It's a term that literally describes how appealing something is from the street curb. When you're selling your car, increasing the curb appeal can drive up the price you are able to sell it for.

But how do you do it? Here are some tips that can help.

Check the Tyres

One of the first things a potential buyer is going to notice, even from some distance, is the tyres on your Land Rover. It's an important issue, as a new set of tyres can be an expense they don't want to pay for, especially after buying a new car. In order to negate these worries, check your tyres thoroughly. Make sure the thread isn't too worn. If the tyres are worn down, consider purchasing new ones or even a gently-used set to improve the curb appeal of your car.

While you're at it, test the air in the tyres. Properly inflated tyres will not only perform better, but they'll look better as well.

Give the Wheels a Makeover

Again, your tyres are going to be the first thing your buyers see. Make sure they shine. Wheel cleaner, tar remover, and tyre cleaner can all help give the car a sharp, newer look that will make people want to stop and ask you about your Land Rover. Make sure to start with the rims first, however, as brake dust can coat these areas easily. Then, move on to the tyres.

Clean the Exterior

When you're selling your Land Rover yourself, first impressions are key. You want potential buyers to see the car as they're driving down the road and automatically assume they have a reason to stop and look at it. How do you do this? Buy capturing their attention with an attractive exterior.

A dirty car, even one that is in excellent condition otherwise, will have a much lower in value than a clean car. Take the time to wash your car thoroughly on the outside so it sparkles. Get ride of all that dirt and grime, even under the Land Rover. Remember, buyers will assume a lot from their first glance at your vehicle. The better it looks on the outside, the more apt they are to assume the Land Rover parts under the bonnet are taken care of. Use a proper car shampoo to do this, and don't forget to clean off the roof as well.

While you're in the cleaning mood, get the inside taken care as well. Even this can boost the curb appeal of your Land Rover. Having a clean interior will also make it more likely that potential buyers will want to get in the car and give it a test drive.

Fix the Lights

I was driving home the other day when I noticed a car in front of me with a 'for sale' sticker in the back window. Even while driving, I quickly looked the car over to determine its curb appeal. I was impressed by its tyres and its sparkling appearance, but soon was frowning. As traffic came to a stop, I noticed that one of the brake lights was not working.

Having lights that don't work is a major turn-off for buyers. While the fix may be simple, you're automatically creating work for them they don't want. It also shows how earnest you have been about routine maintenance. If you let something as simple as an indicator light go unnoticed, what else have you neglected?

Before you show your car to a potential buyer, (or even stick a sign in the window,) take the time to test out all of the lights.

Scratches and Chips and Dings... Oh my!

One of the simplest ways to lower the value of your Land Rover is to let scratches, chips, and dings go unrepaired. Many can easily be fixed by your local mechanic. You can even try to repair some of them yourself.

Of course, not every Land Rover is going to be worth repairing when it comes to scratches and dings. Older models may not be worth much in value to begin with, and the time and money you spend in dings and scratches may not pay off in the end. However, if you are selling a new model Land Rover, take the time to do it. Your potential buyers will likely pay more for a car that looks better.

Give it the Right Backdrop

Which setting do you think would make your car look better: parked next to the rubbish bins or next to your beautiful rose bushes? If you chose the second answer, you'd be correct. The truth is, recent statistics have shown you only have seven seconds to make that first impression. Make sure it's the right one. While you may not have a rose bush to show off the beauty of your car, you can use other environmental factors to assist you. A beautifully-manicured lawn or even a garden free of toys and rubbish can provide a beautiful backdrop for your Land Rover.

Further Than Curb Appeal

While curb appeal is an important part of drawing in potential buyers, don't assume your work stops there. You also need to consider any car parts that might need replacing or fixing. Land Rover parts that are worn out or breaking down could affect the overall sales price. If you want to get the most money for the sale, you'll need to address these issues immediately. This, combined with better curb appeal, can assist you in selling your car for top price.
