Letter 'A' before £ sign

(1/2) > >>

Tommy Barr:
Why do so many posts have an upper-case letter 'A' (with a poncey circumflex) before the '£' sign, when prices are quoted?

neo:
Probably something to do with the changeover from phpbb to simple machines. The old forum software may have used a different type of coding to show the pound sign which got dragged across with the database import.
I'll see if it's possible to set up a filter on it if it bugs you that much!

Tommy Barr:
Thanks, neo. I was just curious, really. In fact, I wondered afterwards if it meant 'approximately'.

donny brook:
another problem is that sometimes the original post in a topic appears as the final reply so that the first reply is at the top

Haven't come across that one, although you can set it in your user control panel to put new replies to the top of the thread
