DocBrown:
After many phone calls and emails the excellent staff at Remy Delco and Cardone have tracked down my rack among a lorry load of other racks sent for remanufacturing and have found the parts that I need for the new rack. They're returning them by post on monday.
I'm impressed with Remy's customer care and service. Bloody outstanding and this episode has reinforced my faith in British industry.  :)

Excellent!
Pays to be persistant sometimes!

hi Doc
the top picture with the pipe in the gloved hand looks like the one I replaced last year (£90) from the rack to the pump. while working on my latest pipe leak I have come to realize that I think there should be a rubber seal on that pipe and assume that I must have left it in the fitting when I took the opld pipe out, lucky for me it must have still been in good nick.

DocBrown:
Hi,

yep, the missing part (which turned up as promised by Remy) screws into the upper port. (see pic) Where I thought the lower port was missing something was due pipe not in correct position and thus effectively too short. It didn't help that I'd not worked on the car for a few weeks ago then went back to it and nearly forgot where it was supposed to go. Just glad I took loads of reference photos.  :-[

Mick Snutz:
Good pics bro. When's it likely to get fired up for its first run?
