Loss of Power

I have a 2001 CLK automatic. The problem is when driving it runs great but then suddenly it starts to Kangaroo for a few seconds, then it goes away. Now when I pull up at junctions it is starting to loose power and stall. All I do is turn off the engine remove the key, put it back in the ignition, turn it on, then it starts straight away. I have had it on the computer looking for faults but nothing shows up. It is now starting to get me down, has anyone had a similar experience, if so please help.

Normally spluttering under load (accelerating), or rough idle could normally be put down to the ign leads breaking down, could also be worth looking at the air mass meter as these also seem to be giving problems on mercs at the  moment  :cry: .
BTW what engine was in the vechicle  :?:
