Passat rattles when wet

Can anyone help, why would a 04 reg passat rattle at the back when it gets wet, ie carwash, rain, through puddles etc?

sorry should have said petrol car with low miles, dont know were the rattle is coming from, shocks, brakes suspension, cant find the source.

Hi, not really any issues with this model, for rattles from rear, wet or dry really. when does the rattle occur? would it be during normal driving, at low speeds, over uneven surfaces/ bumpy roads or stationary during idle?
also is it a rattle or more of a squeak or a creak?

probably getting wet on the ignition system, misfiring and rattling through the exhaust.

May be the anti rattle springs on the rear brake pads, but would have thought they would rattle whatever the weather
