Webber Carb

(1/4) > >>

Silver Champion:
You can get a brand new one from GSF for about £160.

I know - not very helpful, but it's true! I even think they do an automatic or manual - but I could be wrong. Let me know how much you pay for it in the end as I am desperate to get rid of the piece of crap seeping petrol into my engine at the moment.

Cheers

JOHN@HEATHROW:
EZ,
Second hand prices are trickey, personally i would pay no more than £60-70 if it has all the pieces. The fitting instructions that come with the carbs give a detailed breakdown of the parts that should be in the kit and the way it all bolts together.
Yep,they should all run a manual choke but there was two different types as SC says, one for the Auto gearbox versions, one for the manual.
IIRC the Weber part number for the should begin 22670.???,this should be on the instuctions but not sure if it will be on the carb
Failing that we'll sell you one [:D].

This is the number I got from the seller......
Part # 22670916 does that sound bout right?
Do these need setting up correctly or can I do it myself?

JOHN@HEATHROW:
EZ,
22670.916 is the correct one if yours has a Manual g/box.
As for the settings,if it not been fiddled with when it was taken off,you shouldn't have to adjust much apart from the choke cable set up to make sure it opens & closes where it should [:D]
Dont forget to check the base flange on the car at the mo' cause if its split/worn the Weber wont work right from the start [:(].
J.

BTW how much[?]

"POSITIVE WAVES ARE WHATS NEEDED"

ezee_duzit:
Is that the rubber flange? Would this affect the running of my car with the current carb. The carb has some movement in it at the moment, probably due to a split/worn flange!
The carb is on Ebay currently at £25, which ain't bad, looks in good nick too.
Cheers for help J.
