GM 900 Clutch cable adjust?
« on: December 14, 2007, 05:27:25 PM »
MR67,
The cable on these is a self adjusting unit, so theres not a lot of options avail to you.
Fitting these sort of cables is more time consumiing than anything as you normally have to take off panels, disconnect bits and bobs etc..
If you are going to try it yourself i would recomend getting a Haynes type manual to give you an idea of what will need taking off & where.
If the cable doesn't solve the problem, it will then probably point to the clutch on its way out [:(].

GM 900 Clutch cable adjust?
« Reply #1 on: December 14, 2007, 01:12:31 PM »
Hello
Our car is a 1997 900 2.3SE Convertible.
The clutch appears to have a lot of freeplay and this has progressively got worse recently.
Now, the gear selecting is being affected - particularly reverse which is accompanied by a loud GRUNCH!
Is the cable adjustable and if so how?
OR - is a new cable easy to fit and then adjust?
Many thanks
