Seat Alhambra, and wet carpet

Hi all,
I bought a Seat Alhambra, 1998 (S) reg. 1.9 tdi, about a year ago,+
and over the last 2 weeks, I am getting a wet patch on the carpet in the boot compartment.(Passenger side)
I've checked the roof, window, and even behind the panel on the passenger side, in case it's the 2nd heater, but all of these are dry.
I am wondering if it could be water coming in from underneath the vehicle, or perhaps a blocked water hole somewhere?

Any help would be appreciated

long time away but back again!!!!
possible water ingress could be coming from the rear applique panel on the tailgate....!!!
strange place i know but the newer versions are quite bad for the water getting into the rr fog/reverse light cluster, particularly the n/s..
don't believe me have a look at newer versions the next time you see one and look for a dark patch on the bottom of the cluster!!!
I know..mine does!!!!
