1998 LT35 SDI to TDI?

if changing to Sdi you'd probably need the ecu, looms and maybe the clocks too. The physical bolting in of it should be a straight swap, but don't quote me on it!

******** VAG Tech Advice *********
If it dont run right cold, change the blue temp sender.
If it aint got a spark, check earths, coil connections.
If it idles like ****, clean the ISV and throttle body.
For all other problems, use a hammer

1998 LT35 SDI to TDI?

Has anyone out there ever transplanted a 2.5 TDI into a 2.5 SDI? Is it a fairly simple swap or should I ditch the thing and just buy another van? I'm tired of thrashing the goolies out of it's pathetic 75hp just to keep up with road sweepers and bicycles. I'm sick of planning on overtaking according to the wind direction and gradient. I've had enough of cars up my chuff because they think i'm deliberately slowing them down when actually my boot is pushing the throttle cable to it's snapping point.

The trouble is that it's otherwise a good van - I've made it into a 6 seater & two berth sleeper with a tool compartment. It's perfect for my job, I even went to Malaga in it - sometimes screaming in second gear at 20mph up their steeper motorway hills.

I even bought the performance chip thing for it at £400 - an extra 10HP that made bugger all difference - it's still gutless.

How about just sticking on a TDI head and all the gubbins?
Or a Sprinter engine?

Help me before i die of old age.
