On the mk2's it in the inner wing / front chasis member by the passenger headlight. Have a look for a randon 2 wires going into what looks like nothng!

******** VAG Tech Advice *********
If it dont run right cold, change the blue temp sender.
If it aint got a spark, check earths, coil connections.
If it idles like ****, clean the ISV and throttle body.
For all other problems, use a hammer

Right mate - will do - ta.

stan_deezy:
Yep, it's on the passenger side, just behind the bumper : easiest way to access is remove the light [:(]

Life is what happens while you're making plans

As always - car comes back from garage running again but I got to cycle round the MFA trip computer and when the next thing to come up is the outside air temp it goes straight back to the start (the time)...so Im guessing that its either bust or unplugged....does anyone know where the sensor actually lives?

Ta.

Low down in the front bumper of a mk.3 are two small grilles. The Mfa ambient air temp. sensor, where fitted, is clipped into a hole in the r/h (u.k. 'off-side') grille.
