Peugeot Car Parts Forum / LED bulbs
« on: February 13, 2011, 05:50:53 PM »
Has anyone any experience of replacing their standard bulbs for LED's?

I was particularly interested in replacing my Pug 406 indicators plus the stop/tail lights but most of the websites selling them suggest there could be issues such as they don't work -there may be a 'bulb out' warning or they could flash quickly because the car thinks there is a bulb not working due to the low wattage used.

I'm also not convinced they sell a like for like replacement as the sizes don't seem the same.

Good pics bro. When's it likely to get fired up for its first run?

I actually looked in a haynes manual yesterday and there is mention of a diagnostic plug found on the passenger side of the car so I reckon that's it.

Like you say, it nothings broke, I shan't worry.

The cable is black and a single wire. The block on the end has some purple coloured plastic on it but that's all. If I follow the cable back it merges into some others which are all bound up together as part of the normal wiring loom I guess. It then trails off into some hole or other which is impossible to get to and see where it all ends up.

Peugeot Car Parts Forum / I found an unconnected plug in my engine bay
« on: April 30, 2010, 01:16:49 PM »
I drive a Pug 406 110bhp HDi 2001 (x reg) and the other day whilst checking over the engine bay I found a cable with a plug on the end which wasn't attached to anything.

The cable is thicker than a single wire and comes from the passenger side wing. It was sitting slightly under the battery and the has a black plastic plug on the end in a square shape, the sort that has a wire metal circlip on it for attaching to the other end. This was resting on metal work under the headlight fittings. Its also near to where a couple of cables are earthed to the chassis/inner wing.

I just wondered what it might be for and has anyone else got a cable that seemingly goes no-where?

thanks  ???

Peugeot Car Parts Forum / sluggish 406 2.0 HDI
« on: March 12, 2010, 07:53:38 PM »
My x reg 406 is running a bit sluggish. At low revs there's no urgency anymore but high revs its fine. The turbo spools up nicely and there's no sounds of rushing air suggesting an air leak. Economy is still good but the get up and go it once had is gone.
The car is 2,500 miles away from a service but on a few occasions I have run the tank beyond the red so am wondering if the fuel filter is blocked and needs changing?

Also, not sure if this is connected but I have noticed at night when the lights are on, they flicker slightly when I rev the engine. After a while the dimming lights appears to go away once the engine is warmed up.
Any bright ideas anyone?

thanks
