French Cars / Clutch

What are the telling signs that my clutch may be on the way out? I have a 99' 306 done 100k just noticed the other day its starting to feel a little stiffer.

When pressing the clutch in whilst stationary at the point just before its fully depressed it almost feels as if it goes from tight then slips to fully depressed. yesterday afternoon while driving round town when pulling away it has started to judder.

Was hoping maybe just a cable adjustment but believe its self adjusting so might be worth chaning or is it more terminal than that?

French Cars / 306 Leaking

Hi
I have a 306 '99 V Plate. Have noticed this morning some fluid on the bumber and splitter under the drivers side headlight and also a small patch on the floor.

Not 100% sure what it could be, it's very close to radiator and washer jet bottle, can't see anything obvious and car is running @ normal temp.

French Cars / 306 A/C

Having problems with the a/c on my 99' 306 1.8 XS. My mate regassed it on the side 3-4 weeks ago had a very small leak but held a 9.3 vacuum, he couldn't fix it at time so i've just left it.

Everything has been fine but recently I have noticed that when a/c is on and I am accelerating there is a noticable noise/grinding sound coming from engine, stops when a/c is off. Its not the same noise I experienced when gas was low which is more of a hissing sound.

Any ideas?

French Cars / 106 Car Door

Hi
My girlfriends car door doesn't latch when you open it the door just swings right open, there's nothin there stopping it.
I believe it has something to do with the hinge just inside the door, does anyone know if this can be fixed or will it require a new catch?

French Cars / 306 Gearbox

I ahve a 1999 306 1.8 XS 16v, done around 73k now. Ever since I've had the car the gearbox has never really felt right, I heard this was common on Peugeots. It is notchy and sometimes awkward to get into gear, is this correct or am I just trying to overlook a possible problem with the box or clutch?

What should I expect a garage to charge just to fit a Lambda sensor?
I've brought it already as the garage want £87 for the part and peugeot wanted £140, got it for £45 in the end. Basically how long does it take to fit?

French Cars / 306 Problems

Hi I have a 306 1.8 16v XS, not running too well at the moment keeps spluttering and idel keeps fluctuating between .9 -1k RPM when stationary. Also have noticed that occassionally I get an odd smell inside the car, I'm thinking the CAT but not sure. Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

I'm getting a high squeaking each time I brake, the pads and discs have both been changed in the last 10-12 months. What else could be wrong?

French Cars / 306 1.8 XS Plugs

I have a 306 1.8 XS 16v '99 which has done 70k, just had rear box and centre pipe replaced, however there is still spluttering occuring. Plugs were last changed at 40k I believe peuegot use long life plugs which aren't due to be changed until 80k, would it be worth changing them now?

Any other ideas why my car is spluttering/misfiring and generally rounning a bit rough?

French Cars / Engine noise

I have a Phase 2 (99) 306 1.8 XS, now reaching 70k have noticed the engine runs quite roughly, and I find the idle fluctuates when stationary and slightly splutters. It has been regularly serviced and has had a recent oil change, the plugs haven't been changed since 40k as they have these long life plugs? Would it be an idea to change them?

The interior car fan of my Phase 2 306 never seems to go off, it only happens on the passenger side. When I have turned the fans right down supposedly to off the one fan carries on whirring, any ideas?

I have a Phase 2 306, the light behind the fan control has gone how do I get to them to change it? Also I have a front fog bulb gone, am struggling to get to these as well?

VW Water Cooled / Headlights

Hi
The front two head lights of my girlfriends car have both blown recently, one infact had actually smashed. This after only replacing them around two weeks before hand.
I replaced them again and they were okay for the fist day, however since the offside one is much brighter than the other, this happens to be the one that had blown. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

VW Water Cooled / Reverse Light

Well it's been a while since I last posted on here!
Anyways as I know you guys on here are so helpful you may be able to help me with a problem my mum has with her 94' Toyota Celica GT, the reverse lights don't work, it's not the bulbs. What else should I check for?
